Laura’s forte is working with the body-mind from a somatic and embodied approach - from “bottom up” rather than “top down” – by reducing stress and anxiety physiologically, through changing the autonomic nervous system and discharging trauma, rather than just using a cognitive or talk therapy approach. Laura believes that by working together, you will recover abandoned parts of yourself and embody the inner resources needed to move through life with greater empowerment.

Her sessions integrate a blend of counselling and psychotherapy bodywork, somatic humanistic psychology, embodiment practices, trauma-informed care, somatic experiencing, Hakomi somatics, movement education, yogic philosophy and expressive arts that help to facilitate and support positive change.

Her work is a trauma informed, strengths based and person centred model of care.

 Discovery call

A Free discovery call will provide an opportunity to ask questions and gain an understanding about your current challenges, goals and pain points.  This is a key opportunity for us to start building a relationship and understand how I may be able to assist you. You can also learn more about my expertise and knowledge, the success I have had in helping others with similar issues, and consider whether my offerings will be able to meet your needs. Ultimately, a discovery call helps to determine if there is a good fit and we can decide if we would like to take the next steps together.

Initial Consultation

This first session is a little bit longer so that we get to know each other a little bit more. We get to know each other while working together to facilitate a trusting, safe, compassionate, and mindful therapeutic relationship. We will investigate what you want to achieve from therapy and what you want from your life. we will also develop a real self-care plan (one not just filled with yoga and bubble baths) to ensure you are taking care of yourself mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually between counselling sessions.

In this first session, we will not go deep into any traumatic events, memories or processing as we will first asses and build inner resources and safety and stabilisation.

Hereafter, we beging to go deeper. You can either take casual drop-ins or you can undertake the Self-care pack, which are 6 sessions that allows us to begin to process and unravel what is underneath the surface.

Self care pack: 3/6 Sessions

Most of my clients are navigating challenges that require ongoing support. My goal with this offering is to make it affordable for you to be able to see me for weekly or fortnightly sessions for 6 sessions and from there re-asses. Creating new habits, changes, and neural pathways takes time; it’s like going to the gym or doing yoga. You wouldn’t expect a full-body transformation after going to the gym twice a month… right? Likewise, it takes a few sessions, to build rapport and trust, learn new resourcing techniques, practice new pathways and ways of being, etc. I cannot and will not promise you a full-body transformation after 6 sessions with me but perhaps you might find new ways to regulate your nervous system, new support and resources (internally and externally), find more ease in your body-mind, Release tension and habitual patterns, Experience greater depths of connection, Enhance self-esteem and self-awareness, Support spiritual inquiry and most importantly find more freedom, ease and aliveness in your life.
